Message to the Institute
Dear Brothers,
Fraternal greetings from Rome! I hope that you are well and that your pilgrimage along the road of communion continues in hope.
By means of this message I announce to you that with my council I have accepted the request of Brother Guy Dussault to be relieved of his responsibilities as general treasurer and as our legal representative in Italy. However, Brother Guy will continue his activities until his replacement is named at a still undetermined date but no later than December 31, 2009.
After twenty-one years of service to the institute at the general level, Brother Guy sees the need to re-enter his province for a well-deserved rest and then to continue serving the institute in another manner.
I do not wish even to attempt to highlight the enormous work accomplished by Brother Guy during his years in Rome. I’ll dare, at the risk of forgetting some, to list some essential aspects of his activities: the juridical re-organization of the institute in Italy, the rewriting of the Administrative Guide, the revision of our Rule of Life, the taking of responsibility for the huge construction projects at Cristo Re, the supervision of numerous institute publications. To all of those one must add the ordinary daily tasks he performed both as general secretary and general treasurer. Such a listing gives an indication of his impressive contributions, all done with competence and efficiency. The institute owes him immense gratitude.
My wish for Brother Guy is that he have a smooth transition into his “new life.” I am certain that he will continue to serve with the same commitment in his new responsibilities. May he find in them much satisfaction.
Thank you, Brother Guy. Our prayers are of gratitude as we ask the Heart of Jesus and our Blessed Mother Mary to guard you under their protection.
Fraternally,
Brother José Ignacio Carmona Ollo, S.C.
Superior general
